ARTS IN THE LIBRARY  from Mary Robbins, Director of Magness Community House and Library
“Arts in the Library is an exciting and long-awaited website
that is dedicated to the development and promotion of
arts in public libraries, particularly in small towns and rural
areas, and to the communities and artists that they serve.
A project of Magness Community House & Library, in
McMinnville, Tennessee,  this website, which is funded by
an Arts Build Communities Grant from the Tennessee Arts

Commission, through the Community Foundation of Tennessee, is the initial phase of a larger project. Based upon the fact that public libraries in small towns and rural areas across Tennessee and the country are the informational and cultural centers of their communities, Arts in the Library supports, encourages and actively  assists these libraries to become more knowledgeable about the arts and how they can be incorporated into the library program and successfully promoted to the community.
Arts in the Library also seeks to link libraries with artists and funders of arts-based programs to build mutually satisfying and long lasting relationships.
Librarians, artists and funders are invited to monitor this site to learn more about the Arts in the Library project.  Your e-mail questions are welcomed.  Please contact:
