Gourds are a new medium for me as I knew nothing of them until we moved to Tennessee a few years back. I had no idea there were so many different types and that there was an organization that catered to this wonderful new medium. Since my humble beginning of creating bird houses on dipper gourds for friends and family a few years back I have expanded my knowledge and design and continue to learn and expand with every passing day. To help in my learning process I joined the Tennessee Volunteer Gourd Society and was elected Vice President last year. I have taken my gourd creations to many events and it seems I am not the only one who finds gourds interesting and useful.
