Artist’s Statement
I am a
potter who grew up in a family of artists. The natural
world of forests and seascapes, with the seeming chaos
of color, form and texture, is the basis of much of my
work. I use the natural clay bodies, stains, oxides and
glazes to enhance the forms and textures on my work. I
incorporate lizards, frogs and birds into many of my
forms. I enjoy making work that reveals something
different each time it’s looked at. I use combinations
of glazes to enhance the surfaces of my functional ware.
I have also developed a collection of unique Judaic art
comprised of items that can be used in many holiday
celebrations as well as daily life.
