Adele Seitzinger
(Fiber Artist and Painter) To begin to follow the thread that is art in my life, I must say that I believe I have been an artist my whole life. I have, since my earliest days, enjoyed capturing ideas and images in one art form or another. I learned to knit and crochet at my mother's side while still in primary school. I have always been fascinated with textures and colors and ways they can combine or how to use them in my work. In high school and college, the thread of the arts was my focus. I grew up in a very artistic, creative family with a variety of needle workers, visual and musical artists, and writers. With their support, I was encouraged to grow and continue with art. Since my formal schooling, the thread of art weaves in and out as I've remained involved in the arts. I've worked as a freelance artist, a graphic artist, calligrapher, painter, watercolorist, sculptor, computer artist, teacher of both arts and crafts to children and adults, and as a fiber arts craftsman. More recently, I has studied fiber and bead arts at the Appalachian Center for Crafts and been making paintings of skies with acrylic paints. A member of ART, the Cumberland Art Society, Upper Cumberland Arts Alliance, I also gives much time to art education and to TACA as a board member.
I work by commission as well as offer classes in all of the crafts I do. Contact me for more information.
